Most often seen with Egg-shaped bowls, meerschaum renditions of dragon's claws holding a pipe bowl are a common variant. For this AKB piece, though, the scaly claw is clutching a snarling lion head. It's remarkably detailed and a little intimidating, and the stummel will patinate with time and use, taking on personality as it is smoked over the coming years.
