A stunning figural carving, this meerschaum from AKB depicts a bearded man in a hat smoking, appropriately, a pipe. The hat the man is wearing is delightfully jaunty, sitting slightly lopsided, with one end flipped upwards, adorned with a feather that lays languidly over the top right flank. The man stares with a face painted by fatigue, his eyes heavy, eyebrows scrunched tightly, curling beard seemingly holding up his pipe, likely the singular pleasure he may partake in, as his pupils seem to reflect a slight relief. Surely whomever smokes from this will assist in his relief. A worthy cause.
