Similar to the ever-popular Devil Anse shape, BriarWorks' "C142S" is a compact nosewarmer whose bowl exhibits a dramatic forward cant. It's a shorter rendition of the American workshop's standard-length "C142" Belge, and while the proportions and general shaping cues emulate those of the Devil Anse, the bowl is more Egg-like, offering a deeper chamber, and calling to mind the shaping of old-school clay pipes. This example is finished in a dark, striated rustication for an aesthetic that's both understated and classy.
