Ropp's Stout series consists of classic shapes rendered in compact, Nosewarmer length with an emphasis on robust proportions. This particular Zulu rendition shortens the stem's length considerably, opting instead for a straight mouthpiece rather than the softly downturned one that's typically associated with the shape. The abbreviated stem along with the strong taper from transition to lip button places more visual emphasis on the stummel, with the seamless transition promoting a comfortable in-hand feel. These shaping cues accentuate the active, gestural nature of the canted bowl while remaining classic in execution. And while this piece is lightweight and can be clenched effortlessly, the chamber is remarkably spacious compared to most Nosewarmer designs.
