Danish carver Poul Winslow brings his more than 50 years of pipe-making experience to the forefront with the crafting of this palm-filling bent Apple design. The bowl displays a lifting heel and a rim lined in plateau along its asymmetrical, outer edges. What's surprising is that Winslow has carved a couple of subtle channels and accompanying ridges along the left flank that are more felt than seen. There's so much to appreciate about this pipe, with its bold shaping contrasted by subtle nuances. Wearing one of the artisan's signature dual finishes, this pipe displays dark, rugged rustication from mid-fore, down through the heel and shank, ending with the latter's nomenclature panel. The remainder is finished in a rich, honey-blonde stain. Further accentuating this Apple is a multi-colored accent band at the shank end.
