While many of Poul Winslow's bent Dublins often display a sense of flowing, forward-urging dynamism, this rendition takes a more architectural approach to the classic shape. A series of panels line the bowl's surface, each ridgeline perfectly following the sweeping gesture of the shank. The broad, domed rim and the stem's elegant downturn adds some softness to the form's profile while one of Poul's gorgeous contrast stains highlights the briar's natural grain. Each facet around the bowl frames a beautiful array of flame grain while mesmerizing patterns of birdseye dominate the surface of the broad, slightly inflated rim. An excellent representation of Winslow's remarkable ability to consistently produce unique, stunning interpretations of classic forms.
