A reverse Calabash isn't a common occurrence, whether in briar or fashioned from meerschaum as is the case here, making this robust rendition from Ali of AKB a welcome sight. The towering bowl houses more than two inches of chamber depth and is topped by an overhanging domed cap. The muscular, flaring shank houses the aforementioned reverse Calabash system, designed to provide a cooler, drier smoke, as it collects moisture that may accrue during smoking sessions. The stummel wears a texturally pleasing rustication and will darken over time and with use.
