Dunhill's taller straight Bulldog rendition is this "04" design, as opposed to the more squat and broad style of the English marque's "17" version. Often times, the "04" has a more slender and sleek shaping style; however, this Group 5 example exudes stout muscularity. Furthermore, the overall length has been abbreviated compared to previous iterations we've received, likening this piece to some of Dunhill's Stubby designs. With plenty of chamber and plenty of substance, it's a versatile pipe with no shortage of presence or chamber capacity.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
