Dunhill's "14" bent Dublin shape features a simply stunning silhouette. Originally produced for the English marque's limited edition William Shakespeare line, commemorating the poet and playwright's 450th birthday, the "14" shape isn't one of Dunhill's most prolific designs, making it somewhat of a rarity. That being said, it's a beautiful, curvaceous number, displaying an alluring S-curve that bends gracefully into the the bowl's fore. Incredibly well balanced, the horizontal section of the mouthpiece runs parallel to the flattened rim, enhancing the stately profile already created by the dressy color palette of a dark sandblast.

The Shell Briar's addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe-smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill's innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar. With its dark, reserved color palette and delightful texture, it's no surprise that it's still wildly popular over a century later.
