This muscular, spectacularly grained Horn marks his 50th anniversary as a pipemaker. Originally working for Preben Holm at the age of 17, Poul rapidly rose to the top of the 46 carvers at the workshop, and continued to hone and refine his skill until the factory's closure in the mid 1980s. After leaving the Preben Holm factory, Poul decided to start up his own workshop and craft pipes under his own name, pulling from his many years of experience in the Danish pipemaking tradition. Now we see here, in this pipe, the culmination of his learning and effort, with its robust, subtly organic shaping, beautiful grain, and the expertly applied silver accent which throws a pleasantly cool contrast against the fiery stain.
